Motherhood & Children  

During pregnancy and in early childhood, the nutritional needs of both mother and child can be greater than at other times in their lives. A growing baby, during pregnancy, needs ample amounts of select nutrients such as folic acid for proper growth. One common ailment, largely due to the modern diet, is folic acid deficiency of the mother which can cause a host of symptoms from miscarriages and bleeding, to poor fetal development.

Further, growing children often need more nutrients that they can get.. in this world of overprocessed foods. It's highly unlikely that our children today receive the same quality nutrition as they did just a couple of generations ago.

Therefore, it is essential that we fill the nutritional gap in our children's diets before diseases associated with nutritional deficiencies set in. Many people don’t realize it, but many of the diseases in children are caused by nutritional deficiencies and the prevalence of such, in industrial society, is close to that of developing countries.
